How to play MEGA MAROLI
Everything a new player needs in about two minutes of reading — and nothing you have to read before you start.
The goal
Keep the ball in play, smash every block on the screen, and move on to the next level. You have three lives, shown as hearts. A life is lost when the ball falls past your paddle. Clear all twenty levels and you win the run.
Controls
- Phone or tablet: drag your finger left and right to move the paddle. Tap once to launch the ball. The paddle sits well above the bottom edge on purpose, so your thumb never covers it.
- Computer: move the mouse, or use the left and right arrow keys.
- Pause: the pause button, or the space bar.
- Reset: returns you to the start screen without closing the page.
- Sound: can be turned off at any time with the sound button.
Game modes and the score multiplier
Pick a mode on the start screen. The ball is faster in every step up, and the score multiplier grows with it, so a risky mode is worth far more than a safe one.
- Normal — the standard ball speed. The place to learn the angles.
- Fast — a noticeably quicker ball and a higher multiplier.
- BEAST — everything speeds up: the ball, the coins, the whole rhythm of the game. It carries the biggest multiplier and dominates the top of the leaderboard.
Blocks award points multiplied by your mode. Coins are different: a coin is always worth exactly the number printed on it.
Coins
Blocks often drop a coin when you smash them. There are three kinds and the rule is simple — the more a coin is worth, the faster it falls, so the big ones demand a real decision: chase the coin, or stay under the ball?
- 25 — common, drifts down slowly.
- 50 — less common, noticeably quicker.
- 100 — rare, and it drops fast.
Caught coins add their value to your score and to your coin balance, which is what you spend in the ball shop.
The ball shop
From level 2 onwards the shop is available — on the start screen, and whenever the game pauses between levels. A ball you buy lasts for one level only, so each new level is a fresh choice about how to spend your coins.
- Double Ball — you start the level with two balls in play. Twice the blocks, twice the chaos.
- Explosive Ball — every hit blasts the blocks around the one you struck, which clears dense patterns very quickly.
- Disco Ball — flashes through the whole rainbow while it flies. It doubles the value of every coin and makes coins drop far more often: the highest-scoring ball in the game if you can keep it alive.
Levels and progression
There are 20 levels, built from ten rotating block patterns, so the shape of the board keeps changing as you climb. Each level also adds a small speed increase — deliberately small, so the difficulty curve stays fair for younger players instead of spiking after level 3.
Early levels are open and forgiving. The middle levels tighten the patterns and reward steady paddle control. The last levels combine a fast ball with dense blocks, which is where the Explosive and Disco balls really start to matter.
The global top 10
When a run ends, your score is checked against the global top 10. If you made it, you can enter a short alias of up to 10 characters, and your score, mode and the level you reached are saved for everyone to see. Use a nickname, never your real name — see the privacy page for why.
Tips
- Hit the ball with the edge of the paddle to send it out at a sharper angle.
- Aim for a gap in one column and let the ball rattle around behind the blocks.
- Do not lunge for a 100 coin you cannot reach — losing a life costs more than the coin is worth.
- Save coins across two levels if you want a Disco Ball for a dense pattern.
- Turn the sound on: the pitch tells you when the ball is speeding up.
Playing offline
The "Make available offline" button stores the game in your browser, so it opens and plays with no connection at all. Handy on planes, in cars and on school Wi-Fi. Local scores keep working offline; the global leaderboard needs a connection.
